DIRECTIONS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH OF THE LABORATORY
• Electron-microscopic studies of biological objects in various pathological and pathobiochemical conditions.
• Electronic – microscopic studies of biological objects obtained during surgical interventions (biopsy).
• Studying of the experiments planning and biological material taking peculiarities
• Morphometric study of biological material (determination of volume, length and surface area, determination of ratio, selection and determination of the size of small objects, study of the problem of tissue deformation, study of actual diameters of vascular bed sections, analysis of modern methods of particle size determination).

HISTORICAL MILESTONES OF THE LABORATORY
Since its foundation in 1967, the laboratory of electron microscopy was organized and began its work on the basis of the department of pathological anatomy under the leadership of its head, doctor of medical sciences, professor, honored professor of LNMU, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and
corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine Dmytro Deonisovich Zerbino. Since 1974, the electron microscopy laboratory was part of the Central Research Laboratory under the leadership of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Boris Pavlovich Kuzminov. Currently, since 2014, the laboratory
of electron microscopy is a unit of all departments of the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University under the leadership of PhD, associate professor Yevgenii Paltov. During the existence of the electron microscopy laboratory, the following people worked in it: L. Ionov, P. Nazar, V. Herman, E. Chagovets, E. Lychkovsky, P. Gordiy, A. Khrushch, Yu. Kuts, A. Aliskevich, L. Kuharuk. , Marynych M.

They
participated in a number of international scientific congresses devoted to fundamental and applied aspects of experimental and clinical morphology. The interdepartmental laboratory of electron microscopy of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University has a full documentary base on conducting work at the level of the evidence base, which meets European standards and is a very
important point in terms of integration into the European Scientific Society and the development of the state's scientific and innovative spheres. The interdepartmental laboratory of electron microscopy of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University integrates with the morphological departments of
the university, in particular, topographic anatomy and pathological anatomy. Also, on the basis of the interdepartmental laboratory of electron microscopy, all ultrastructural and morphometric studies of both morphological and clinical research works of the departments of the university can be carried out. These studies will be performed by employees of the interdepartmental laboratory of electron microscopy,
who are candidates of medical sciences, assistants and associate professors.
